DERMA-PEEL SKIN REJUVENATION
Our DermaPeel Skin Rejuvenation are chemical peels for the face. This is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove damaged skin cells, treat wrinkles and correct scars and sunspot discolorations, and induce collagen and elastin.

Chemical peels contain different types of acids that have varying depths of skin penetration. There are many options depending on your needs and how sensitive your skin is.

DETAILS
Our DermaPeel Skin Rejuvenation works with the help of acids within the peel that raise the acidity of the skin. Normally, skin has a pH of around 5.5, and changing the pH level chemically loosens the cells that form the “glue” between dead skin and healthy skin. With that bond chemically loosened, exfoliation occurs as dead skin is removed to reveal healthy skin underneath. This process promotes the growth of new, healthy skin cells and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

For the treatment, you will be lying down, and your eyes will be closed for the procedure with appropriate eye protection.
A balm will be applied in areas around your eyes, nose and mouth to prevent the chemical peeling solution from pooling in those areas.

The peeling agent is first applied to areas with thicker skin, such as the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. It is then spread to the other areas of the face using firm, even strokes in the same direction. The solution is then left on your skin for a period of time—this may be longer or shorter depending on the depth of the peel, and the sensitivity of your skin. Some peels may require more than one pass over the face. Upon completion of the procedure, a neutralizing wash or cool compress may be used on the face, followed by a cooling mask per protocol.

RECOVERY
The amount of downtime needed for a chemical peel depends on the strength of the peel. After a peel your skin will be likely red and appear irritated. You may also feel mild continued burning or stinging for the next couple of hours.
A light superficial peel can have a quick recovery time of under a week. However, a more aggressive peel that treats deeper superficial layers of the skin may require one to two weeks of recovery time.

During your recovery period, your skin may become dry, peel, or get irritated. Because of this, we recommend using a good moisturizer and scheduling your chemical peel several weeks in advance of big social events.

When recovering from a chemical peel, your skin will be very vulnerable to the UV rays of the sun. Because of this, it’s important to take steps to protect your skin from these harmful rays.
