DETAILS
A consultation is required prior to treatment. We will discuss what to expect before, during, and after treatment. We will evaluate the area of concern and decide if this treatment is right for you.
We will start by applying a cold gel to your face and providing you with protective eyewear. We will then use the handheld device and press it lightly against your skin. You will see a bright flash of light which penetrates selectively deep into the layers of pigmented skin. The IPL is absorbed into the pigmented areas, protecting the surrounding skin from damage. When the pigmented cells absorb the light, they are destroyed and broken into tiny particles, which the body can flush away naturally. ​

CONTRAINDICATIONS
This procedure is not recommend for people who have:

Skin conditions - active acne, open wounds, severe dermatitis or eczema, or keloid scarring

Medications - blood thinners, diabetes medications, or Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last six months

Sun exposure - not recommended for people who have recently had a sunburn or who have had unprotected sun exposure within the last four weeks

RECOVERY
Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour.
For pigmented lesions, over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone.
After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.
